Last Published:  12/21/16 11:56:30 AM (Central)
Short Title: Ind Sensitivity I
Responsible HRP Element: Space Radiation
Collaborating Org(s):
Funding Status: Planned-Unfunded - Task not within current budget
Procurement Mechanism(s):
Solicited
Aims:
Aim 1: Research to uncover determinants of individual susceptibility to space radiation induced cancers that will form the basis for individualized risk assessments and countermeasures.

Aim 2: Research to quantify and describe the biological basis for the effects of sex on cancer risk from space radiation exposure.

Aim 3: Research to identify biomarkers that can be used to identify and characterize individual susceptibility to space radiation and to monitor the development of adverse outcomes.

Aim 4: Research that seeks to leverage on the rapidly accumulating genomic and molecular knowledge on human cancers in order to facilitate extrapolation of results obtained in animal models to the human condition.
