Procurement Mechanism(s):

Aims:
This bedrest study will evaluate the influence of several potential contributing factors (cephalad fluid shift, CO2, resistive exercise, and sodium) to the development of the VIIP syndrome. This study may be initiated if bedrest is determined to be an appropriate analog for the development of the VIIP syndrome as seen in space flight.
Integration/Unique Aspects:
Need a validated VIIP analog prior to study initiation.
