 Initial State of Gap:

 

Risks of hereditary, fertility, and sterility effects from space radiation exposure are unlikely at the radiation doses and dose-rates expected in the space environment.

 

   

   

 Approach:

 

Literature surveillance and data mining efforts will be maintained to review current ground-based, peer-reviewed research on low dose and dose-rate effects on heredity, fertility, and sterility effects from exposure to space radiation.

  • Establish evidence base for identified effects (if any) at space relevant exposures.
  • Research results on hereditary and fertility effects to establish probability of adverse effects (on-hold)
