Description

State of Knowledge: It is currently unknown how to objectively compare individual medical capabilities (each with specific benefits and resource “costs”) against one another. The ability to perform this type of comparison in the engineering domain is referred to as a trade space analysis. In order to perform a medical system trade space analysis, a prioritized list of exploration medical capabilities must be developed based upon which capabilities confer the greatest benefit (across all conditions) for the least resource “costs”.

Approach:

Create rank-ordered capabilities list
Target for Closure
1. Inclusion of the prioritized capabilities list in a trade space analysis tool suite
Mappings
Risk Risk of Adverse Health Outcomes and Decrements in Performance Due to Medical Conditions that occur in Mission, as well as Long Term Health Outcomes Due to Mission Exposures
