Responsible Element: Human Health Countermeasures (HHC)
Status: Open
Description
Present state of knowledge: Several types of produce have been successfully grown and consumed on the ISS, demonstrating the potential of supplemental fresh-grown food. However, more work is required to determine the produce candidates and growth methods that produce the best crops for spaceflight.

Research approach: Add-on quality/palatability assessments of new crops that are grown at KSC under SB funding (e.g. microgreens. Strawberries, rootzone crops, herbs, legumes).
Target for Closure
Assessments of baseline quality and quality stability.
