Aims:

The aim of this task is to characterize the construct of workload (i.e., workload resulting from the number and difficulty of tasks rather than within task workload), by conducting an operational assessment and a literature review of workload in spaceflight, to 1) bring together what is known already about workload (and work overload, work underload), on ISS, and conduct qualitative analysis from existing crew debriefs; 2) Define the role of this construct as a risk factor; 3) determine relevant mitigation strategies for future missions, where applicable; 4) determine where more knowledge may be needed, and define specific questions that could be asked of crews during or post ISS missions to fill in knowledge gaps (the intent is to not ask overly generic questions or questions that have already been addressed through other efforts), as well as additional research efforts needed, if applicable.
