Aims:
This is a comprehensive training needs analysis (TNA) to identify training needs relevant to team performance and well-being during LDEM. Overall coverage will include internal NASA information available on spaceflight and current team training practices as well as the extant literature regarding training methods, best practices, technologies, and materials to improve and maintain team function and performance. The results of the needs analysis will help define the training content areas and methods that NASA most wants and needs to prepare astronauts for long duration spaceflight. Sensitive internal information needed throughout the TNA will necessitate an internal/external co-investigator partnership between BHP personnel and an external researcher(s). The data and recommendations from this analysis will be used to inform future training development and criteria for evaluating training effectiveness as related to team function and performance for LDEM.
