Short Title: NESC/Hybrid III Testing & Model Characterization
Responsible HRP Element: Human Factors and Behavioral Performance
Collaborating Org(s):
Other: NESC
Funding Status: Completed - Task completed and produced a deliverable
Procurement Mechanism(s):
Directed
Aims:

Evaluate performance of various Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) 5th and 95th Percentile Hybrid III Anthropometric Test Device (ATD) Finite Element (FE) models in spaceflight-like conditions

Objectives
  1. Conduct sled tests of Hybrid III 5th and 95th percentile ATD in spaceflight-like conditions
  2. Simulate sled test runs with COTS FE models
  3. Compare responses between the physical ATD and model
  4. Determine model uncertainty factors for each model and response

Integration/Unique Aspects: Funded and managed by the NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC)
