Aims:
Aim 1: Examine the effects of GCRsim dose rate on endothelial cell-mediated vasodilation
and markers of endothelial function.
Aim 2: Test whether γ-tocotrienol pretreatment protects against the effects of radiation on
endothelial cell function.

Description:
This study will provide insight into effects of GCR dose rate on cardiovascular
function. In addition, it will move the Countermeasure Readiness Level (CRL) of γ-tocotrienol
from 4 (“Formulation of countermeasure concept based on understanding of phenomenon”) to 5
(“Proof of concept testing and initial demonstration of feasibility and efficacy”).
