Aims:
Aim 1:
To develop novel computational tools to establish mappings between the observed ocular structure and visual function, pre-, in-, and postflight, in order to provide NASA scientists and clinicians with better means to investigate SANS etiology and its progression.
Aim 2:
To integrate Contrast Sensitivity, Visual Fields, and our novel distortion assessment mechanism into a
validated and compact diagnostic tool to better measure ocular function.

Description:
This project will result in developing an integrated framework by modeling a mapping
between ocular neuro-physiology and structure to ocular function. The resulting system
will be invaluble in generating a large amount of data from patients with symptoms similar to
SANS as well as data collected pre-, in-, and post-flight from astronauts. The data and the developed
framework will be shared both with NASA scientists and engineers as well as the public.
