Aims:
- Review Finite Element data from respective population studies that span the astronaut ages such as Mr. Os, Mayo Bone Health Study, AGES and NIH-funded studies (UCSF).
- Determine if FE strength cutoffs could be identified from these datasets to be used as a decision-tool by Space Medicine.
- If FE cut-offs cannot be determined from the data review, then make recommendations for tasks and actions required to determine such FE cut-offs.
Integration/Unique Aspects: Assemble panel of investigators of population studies, with QCT and FE modeling, to provide recommendation.

Description:
Methodology and collaboration for deriving FE Cutoffs from population data.
This Task delivered a specific proposed method for developing a new evidence-based bone health standard (i.e., from population studies with fracture outcome) using cutoffs of hip strength, estimated from FE models of QCT hip scans -- as originally recommended by Bone Summit RCAP of 2010.
