Aims:
This is a prospective, blinded, human subject research study comparing two noninvasive ICP methods (listed below) to a reference standard of invasive ICP monitoring.
- The tympanic membrane displacement (TMD)/cerebral and cochlear fluid displacement (CCFP) method
- Distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE) method
In separate subprotocols, we will compare the accuracy of the noninvasive methods to two
established reference methods of invasive ICP measurement:
1. Continuous ICP monitoring with a fluid-coupled external transducer via temporary
spinal catheter or via a 25 gauge needle inserted into an existing shunt reservoir
2. CSF infusion testing using the Likvor Celda System
