Aims:
  1. Determine the effects of radiation quality on reproductive hormone production, regulation, and metabolism.
  2. Characterize HZE radiation-induced long-term cellular inflammatory responses and stress specific to prostate and mammary glands.
  3. Quantitatively and qualitatively compare HZE and gamma radiation induced prostate and mammary tumors in the PTEN+/- mouse model.
  4. Evaluate causal relationship between alterations in reproductive hormones and inflammatory response and prostate and mammary carcinogenesis.
