Short Title: CHARM
Responsible HRP Element: Human Health Countermeasures
Collaborating Org(s):
National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI)
Funding Status: Completed - Task completed and produced a deliverable
Procurement Mechanism(s):

Specific Aim 1: To develop an integrated cardiovascular (CV) risk calculator that incorporates Framingham risk factor variables and coronary artery calcium (CAC) scores. The CV risk calculator will combine risk factor data, CAC scores, and clinical outcomes from three multi-ethnic, population-based cohorts: (1) the Dallas Heart Study, (2) Multi-ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA), and (3) Prospective Army Coronary Calcium (PACC) study.

Specific Aim 2: To determine if C-reactive protein and/or family history of coronary disease modify CV risk estimates in the integrated Framingham risk score (FRS)/CAC calculators.
