Aims:
Simulated space radiation will promote clonal hematopoiesis and thereby impact cardiovascular disease and leukemogenesis/cancer in a radiation- and gene-specific manner. This study (clonal hematopoiesis, cardiology, oncology, radiation biology) will employ a novel murine adoptive bone marrow transfer approach to model clonal hematopoiesis induced by somatic mutations in driver genes.

Experiments will examine the consequences of simulated GCR and SPE on: (1) hematologic clone expansion (2) cardiovascular function (3) leukemogenic/cancer endpoints.
